Equity and Access in E-Learning

Research in this area focuses on identifying factors, both human and technological, that serve as barriers limiting or prohibiting the equitable participation in online learning (e-learning) for one or more vulnerable populations, such as people with disabilities.

Projects

Accessible LMS Design

We examine design factors in learning management systems (LMS) to determine how they negatively impact the online learning experience of people with disabilities. Employing participatory design methods, we gather design and interaction preferences from the voices of end users, especially those with disabilities, to apply more usable and accessible design patterns.
